Terrazzo services in Tampa, with what each one typically costs
Seven services, all aimed at the same floor: a half-inch or so of marble chips in cement, poured over the slab of a Hillsborough County block house sometime between the mid-1950s and about 1970. In our pull of county property records, every house that listed terrazzo as its flooring was built between 1954 and 1970, and not one house built in 1973 or later did. Most jobs use three or four of the services below at once, so the prices are written the way a quote is built: per square foot for the floor, per patch for repairs, per area for stains.
The whole job on a covered or neglected floor, from pulling the carpet to the last coat of penetrating sealer.
Metal-bond diamonds to flatten and clean the floor, resin-bond diamonds to bring up a shine that belongs to the stone.
Tack-strip holes, plumbing holes, cracks along the strips and gaps where walls came out, filled with matched chips and ground flush.
Carpet, pad, tack strip, tile, thinset and adhesive taken off the terrazzo without gouging what is underneath.
Rust rings, pet stains, pad dye and old spills that survive the grind, treated with a poultice and an honest forecast.
A penetrating sealer on a restored floor and a plain-water and neutral-cleaner routine that keeps it looking right.
Terrazzo left bare after storm water ruined the carpet or vinyl on top of it, rinsed, dried, tested and restored.

The thing that moves a Tampa terrazzo quote most is not the terrazzo. It is what is sitting on top of it. Carpet and glue add $2 to $3 per square foot; tile and thinset add $4 to $6 and leave pits to fill. A photo of a closet corner with the carpet folded back tells us more than the square footage does, and a firm number is confirmed in writing once the covering is off and the whole slab can be seen.
